Meet our founders

Rodney Samaan, MD, MPH

Co-Founder, InvivoCure

  • MD, University of Kentucky
  • Master of Public Health
  • Residency, University Hospitals of Cleveland and Case Western Medical Center
  • Cardiology fellowship, St. Vincent's Hospital, New York City
  • Founder, ProgressiveMD

Long before embarking on clinical research, Dr. Samaan was driven to understand health on a broader scale. That interest in population health across all ages led him to earn his Master of Public Health, followed by his MD from the University of Kentucky and a residency at University Hospitals of Cleveland and Case Western Medical Center. He founded his medical practice, ProgressiveMD, in the San Fernando Valley nearly 15 years ago after completing his cardiology fellowship at St. Vincent's Hospital in New York City.

He also served inner-city Los Angeles as Chief Medical Officer and Health Informatics and Innovation Director at the federally funded Clínica Romero, advancing population health through data and technology. Today, he is Co-Founder of InvivoCure and Chair of Medicine at Mission Community Hospital, and has appeared as a medical commentator on CNBC and CNN. His public health work includes helping secure a $1 million CDC grant for school-based health initiatives at the National Assembly on School-Based Health Care (NASBHC) in Washington, DC, and earning the Los Angeles Department of Health Services' 2017 Most Innovative Award for a novel telehealth approach to respiratory care.
